PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. BOGOR - The Bogor Regency Regional Government (Pemdakab) through the Bogor Regency Fisheries and Livestock Service (Disanak), is currently carrying out massive animal health checks on a number of farms and traders' stalls spread across the Bogor Regency area ahead of Eid al-Adha.

This is done to ensure the health of sacrificial animals and that they are free from infectious diseases, as well as anticipating the discovery of cases of infectious diseases in animals caused by Lumpy Skin Disease Virus (LSDV) infection or lumpy skin disease in animals, FMD and anthrax which attacks livestock, especially cattle and buffalo.

As is known, supervision of checking sacrificial animals was carried out from D-30, D-1 until D-Day of Eid al-Adha involving the entire Bogor Regency Diskanak team.

Head of the Veterinary Public Health Team, Diskanak Bogor Regency, Hardy Herdiawan, explained that the team of animal health officers from Diskanak Bogor Regency together with a team from the Bogor Regency Animal Health Center (Puskeswan) had carried out health checks on sacrificial animals at sacrificial animal stalls throughout the Bogor Regency area. To ensure that sacrificial animals are healthy, fit for consumption and free from LSDV infection.

"Thank God, we have carried out health checks on sacrificial animals. If the sacrificial animals pass the inspection, we will give them a label or sticker that is suitable for sale, suitable for sacrifice and suitable for consumption, also accompanied by proof of a Qurban Animal Health Certificate (SKK HQ)," he said.

He also appealed to the public to buy and choose healthy sacrificial animals that have been examined by veterinarians/Diskanak officers with proof of SKK HQ.

"This SKK HQ is proof that the sacrificial animal passed a health test by a doctor or animal health examiner. "So that both sellers and buyers feel calm and don't need to worry because it is certain that the sacrificial animal is healthy and free of infectious diseases," he said.

One of the managers of the sacrificial animal stall in the Bojonggede area, Bogor Regency, Mulyadin, said that a team from the Bogor Regency Diskanak had inspected 150 sacrificial animal cows led directly by Drh. Andris.

"The cattle in our stall have been confirmed to be healthy and free from infectious diseases and have been installed with a yellow sign or barcode along with the quarantine number and below that is the health register number, so there is already a label and master number," he said.

Apart from that, before arriving in Bogor Regency the cow or sacrificial animal has also gone through a quarantine process in Bima City for 14 days, after that it is quarantined again in Banyuwangi for 14 days and can only enter Bogor Regency in a healthy condition and free of infectious diseases.
