PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1446 H, the Mayor of Bandung, Muhammad Farhan, ensured that all elements of government and security forces are ready to maintain public order and comfort during the Eid holiday.
He conveyed this after attending a readiness roll call for security forces in Bandung City (25/3/2025).
"Alhamdulillah, this morning we witnessed the readiness roll call of troops in order to secure the Eid holiday. Of course, this cannot be separated from the cooperation of all leaders in the Bandung City Government, including the Dandim, Kapolrestabes, Chairman of the DPRD, and other elements from the prosecutor's office, the Indonesian Navy, and the Indonesian Air Force," said Farhan.
According to him, synergy between agencies is the main key in maintaining public security and order. According to the direction of the Dandim, the main task of the security team is to ensure that there are no disturbances during the month of Ramadan until Lebaran, so that the community can carry out worship solemnly and enjoy the Lebaran holiday comfortably.
Farhan also emphasized that Bandung City State Civil Apparatus (ASN) will be allowed to work from anywhere (Work From Anywhere/WFA) starting March 27. However, they must remain alert until the joint leave which lasts until April 8. He asked all ASN to be ready to move whenever needed.
"ASN may WFA, but in principle all must be on standby. If there is an emergency, we must move immediately. We have also prepared a picket system, not only for the Fire Department, Transportation Agency, and Satpol PP, but also other work units such as Bina Marga," he explained.
Farhan admitted that traffic jams are one of the main challenges in Bandung during the Eid holiday. As a tourist destination and homecoming route, the flow of people in and out of the city is strictly monitored by the police and related agencies.
Not only that, the availability of basic necessities is also continuously controlled by the Bandung City Government. Although there has been a price increase in several commodities, Farhan ensured that the conditions were still under control.
"The sharpest price increase only occurred in cayenne pepper. The rest is still safe," he said.
In closing, Farhan conveyed a message to travelers who will leave or come to Bandung City during Eid.
"We ensure that Bandung remains safe during the Eid holiday. For those leaving the city, arrive safely. For those coming to Bandung, enjoy this city. Let's maintain the beauty and cleanliness together," he concluded. (Bandung City Communication and Information Service/Fauziah)
