PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Mayor of Bandung, Muhammad Farhan, appealed to all supporters to maintain conduciveness ahead of the Persib Bandung vs Arema FC match which will be held on Friday (20/4/2026) at the Gelora Bandung Lautan Api (GBLA) Stadium.

He specifically asked visiting team supporters, Aremania, to provide support from home for the sake of mutual safety.

Farhan emphasized that, while he respects Aremania's loyalty to their club, the presence of visiting team supporters at away matches should be avoided. This is in line with efforts to maintain order and prevent potential clashes on and off the field.

"Support can still be provided, but only through television. We must all respect the rules and ensure that no untoward incidents occur," said Farhan at the Bandung City Hall Plaza on Thursday (April 23).

He emphasized that maintaining the image of Indonesian football is a shared responsibility, shared by organizers, security forces, and supporters. He believes a safe and peaceful match atmosphere is key to maintaining the sport's widespread popularity.

Regarding security, Farhan confirmed that anticipatory measures have been fully prepared. Security is being implemented not only within the city but also at various entry points throughout the Greater Bandung area.

"Security measures are definitely multi-layered, even multiple. We are working closely with all authorities in the Greater Bandung area to ensure the situation remains safe," he said.

Ahead of the match, Farhan is also optimistic about Persib's performance. He hopes the Bandungites' pride can secure a convincing victory.

"The target is 2-0, but we'll see. I was happy to see the team's spirit yesterday against Dewa United FC. Even though they were at a disadvantage, they kept fighting until they equalized," he said. (Bandung City Communications and Information Office/rka)
