PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Government is providing nearly 2,000 job vacancies through the 2026 Future Connect Job Fair for the Central Bandung Region at the Bandung Sports Hall (18/6/2026) as an effort to accelerate workforce absorption, which was attended by 1,359 registered job seekers.
Head of the Bandung City Manpower Office, Yayan Ahmad Brilyana, said that job fairs are a strategy to connect job seekers with companies more quickly and efficiently.
Yayan said that the job fair will be held once a month to provide more people with job opportunities.
"Previously, we only held three to four job fairs a year, but now we will increase the number to once a month," he said.
He explained that the activity concept was made simpler so that the costs of organizing it would be more efficient, but the frequency was increased to expand the community's access to employment opportunities.
"We want to bridge the gap between job seekers and employers. Today alone, there are nearly 2,000 job openings available from various companies," he said.
Yayan believes that holding job fairs makes things easier for the public because companies are located in one location, making the recruitment process faster compared to job seekers having to visit companies in person.
Currently, the number of unemployed people in Bandung City is recorded at around 99,300 people, so the Manpower Office continues to present various programs to accelerate the distribution of labor to the community.
In addition to regular job fairs, the Bandung City Manpower Office provides digital-based employment services through the New Bimma application, which makes it easier for the public to access job vacancy information and employment services online.
"A good office isn't one with long queues of visitors, but one that leverages technology to serve the public. That's why we use the New Bimma app for employment services," said Yayan.
