Good news comes for Quran teachers in Bandung City. The Bandung City Government together with the Bandung City Ministry of Religious Affairs Office ensured that incentives for Quran teachers will be disbursed soon.

PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Head of the Bandung City Ministry of Religious Affairs Office, Abdurahim said that the disbursement of incentives was delayed due to the long Eid al-Fitr holiday. However, he ensured that the disbursement of incentives for three months would be carried out in the near future.

"Previously, the Regional Grant Agreement Manuscript (NPHD) had been made, but it was only hampered by the holidays. God willing, this week or the end of April, the incentives for Quran teachers will be disbursed," said Abdurrahim at the Grand Gathering of Quran Education Teachers at the Al-Ukhuwah Mosque (10/4/2025).

This incentive is aimed at 2,030 Koran teachers who have been actively teaching, especially those involved in the program to eradicate illiteracy in the Qur'an during the last Ramadan.

However, there are still around 530 teachers who have not been able to receive incentives due to administrative requirements, especially regarding domicile.

"According to the Mayor's Regulation, only religious teachers with Bandung City ID cards can receive incentives. We encourage this regulation to be reviewed so that all religious teachers can be accommodated," he said.

He explained that the Bandung City Government together with the Bandung City Ministry of Religious Affairs Office are targeting a significant increase in the number of incentive recipients to 13,000 Koran reading teachers next year.

Responding to this, Deputy Mayor of Bandung, Erwin, also emphasized the city government's commitment to supporting the welfare of religious teachers.

"The money is already there, just need to be disbursed. The only obstacle is administrative. We will evaluate so that the process will be smoother in the future," he said.

Erwin hopes that the teachers of the Koran will be more motivated to continue to contribute to producing the Quranic generation and realizing Bandung as a more religious city. (Bandung City Communication and Information Service/Fauziah)
