PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The 38th Musabaqoh Tilawatil Qur'an (MTQ) West Java Level in 2024 in Bekasi Regency was officially closed. Bandung City Caravan achieved third place with an accumulated score of 53 points.

The Daily Chair of the Bandung City Tilawatil Qur'an Development Institute (LPTQ) H. Ucup Pathudin Almaarif appreciated all the caravans who had struggled to make the city of Bandung proud.

"I would like to thank the Acting Mayor of Bandung, the Acting Regional Secretary, the heads of OPD and all parties for their support, motivation and encouragement and prayers. This year the City of Bandung took third place," he said in Bekasi Regency, Saturday (4/ 5/2024).

The Bandung City Caravan managed to win 7 gold medals, 5 silver medals and 5 bronze medals at the 38th MTQ West Java Level in 2024.

He said that the Bandung City LPTQ would continue to carry out evaluations from various angles so that at the next MTQ event, Bandung City would again win the overall champion title.

"We apologize at MTQ this time for not being able to win the overall championship. We have carried out a series of preparations and coaching. But this is the consequence of a competition. We will carry out evaluations and continue to improve coaching," he said.

He also said that efforts to ground the Koran in the city of Bandung must continue. It is hoped that the good values of the Koran can be practiced by all people in their daily lives.

"After this, we will immediately focus on the main task of LPTQ, making efforts not just to compete but to internalize and practice the Al-Qur'an in everyday life," he said.

The 38th West Java MTQ was closed by the Regional Secretary of West Java Province, Herman Suryatman. In his speech, Herman invited the entire community to take positive meaning and benefits from holding the 2024 West Java MTQ as well as provide motivation and inspiration for life in the future.

These positive benefits include being able to strengthen Islamic brotherhood, the unity and unity of the people of West Java with a population of more than 50 million people through mutual cooperation in developing the region.

"Next, create a Koranic generation, not only able to read, understand, but also practice the values contained in the Al-Qur'an as a source of knowledge, a source of knowledge. Make the Al-Qur'an a guide, understood not only textually but contextually ," he said.

For information, at the 38th MTQ West Java Level in 2024, host Bekasi Regency won the overall title with 125 points, followed by Bandung Regency (59 points). Meanwhile, Bogor City achieved 4th place with 44 points and Karawang Regency (36 points).

The 38th MTQ at the West Java Province level took place April 27-May 4 2024 with the theme "Glorifying the Al-Qur'an in Industrial Cities for West Java to be Inner and Inner Champions" and was attended by caravans from 27 Regencies/Cities throughout West Java.
