PORTALJABAR, WEST BANDUNG REGENCY - The Chairman of the Indonesian Child Protection Agency (LPAI), Seto Mulyadi, directly reviewed the implementation of the Panca Waluya Character Education at the National Defense Education Center of the III/Siliwangi Military Command, Cikole, Lembang, West Bandung Regency, Saturday (10/5/2025).

Based on a press release from the West Java Education Office, during his visit, Kak Seto - his nickname - emphasized that no children's rights were violated in the character education activities, even though they were carried out in a military environment.

"There is often a misconception that even though there is an element of military-style discipline, the approach still uses the language of children and upholds their rights," he said.

"Children have the right to grow and develop, protection, the opportunity to voice their opinions, and even health and psychological examinations," he said.

He added that this character education is monitored intensively by various parties, so that its implementation is safe and has a positive impact on students.

Kak Seto also appreciated the program initiated by the Governor of West Java, Dedi Mulyadi. He said that the West Java Provincial Government was very open to input, including his request to directly review the condition of the children.

"The Governor is very open, I asked him to see the condition of the children, he allowed me, I really appreciate it," he said.

LPAI, continued Kak Seto, will continue to monitor until this character education is completed. He even plans to come back in the near future to be a resource person and teach the students directly.

On that occasion, Kak Seto also provided motivation to the students.

"Stay enthusiastic. Maintain physical, mental, and social health. Do not hurt, bully, or fight each other. Maintain unity because we are all heading towards one goal: maintaining the integrity of the Republic of Indonesia," he said.

Governor Dedi Mulyadi who also attended the event also took the time to have a dialogue with the participants. The students admitted that they felt at home and comfortable while participating in the activities at the training location.

The review was also attended by the Regional Secretary of West Java Province, Herman Suryatman, and the Head of Special Education and Special Services Division of the West Java Education Office, concurrently acting Head of the High School Development Division, Ai Nurhasan.
