PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi witnessed the payment of salaries of Bandung Zoo employees by the West Java Provincial Government.

Bandung Zoo employees have not received two months' wages from the Tamansari Wildlife Foundation.

"I apologize for not keeping my promise. Initially, I promised to pay one month's wages, but now I'm paying two months. How can I not be happy?" said KDM, in front of Bandung Zoo employees, Friday (April 3, 2026).

Previously, the Tamansari Wildlife Foundation only paid its employees' wages until January 2026.

The Acting Head of the Bandung Zoo Management Team, Rohman Suryawan, expressed his appreciation for KDM's swift action in addressing several issues, including providing assistance with cage repairs, animal feed procurement, and operational matters.

"KDM also provided two months' wages to employees who had not received wages from the foundation for two months," said Rohman.

Rohman hopes that this step by the West Java Provincial Government (Pemdaprov) can strengthen the Bandung City Government's steps to resolve the Bandung Zoo problem.

"Hopefully, what KDM is doing can strengthen the Bandung City Government's efforts to resolve the Bandung Zoo problem," he said.

Meanwhile, a number of Bandung Zoo employees appreciated the steps taken by KDM, one of which was providing two months' salary to employees.

Aep Saepudin (51), as a caretaker for orangutans and small primates, said he was happy and expressed his appreciation for KDM's steps.

"I really appreciate KDM's move. They acted quickly, without any fuss. They were direct and straightforward," said Aep.

The same thing was also expressed by Sapariah (54), an employee in the nutrition department at Bandung Zoo.

"Thank God, it was very unexpected to give us employees two months' salary in cash," said Sapariah, who has worked for 32 years.

According to him, KDM's promise to provide salaries for employees was not just a promise, but was immediately fulfilled.

"KDM's promise is reassuring, not a false promise. KDM is great, Mr. Aing, those who are sad can be happy," he stressed.

Sapariah said she was proud and moved to meet Governor KDM in person, whom she usually only sees on YouTube.

"I initially just wanted to take a photo, but now we can meet face to face, take a photo, and joke around. I'm very happy. I hope KDM is healthy and continues to be successful," he said.

All employees hope that Bandung Zoo can reopen normally, without any disruption, and safely. Regardless of who manages it, employees can be reinstated and prosper.
