PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. BOGOR - Hypertension is the number one cause of death in the world every year. In the last two years, hypertension has become one of the highest diseases treated at the Cimandala Community Health Center, Sukaraja.

Head of the Cimandala Community Health Center, Sulasiah Legiani, explained that the number of hypertension cases was 889 cases in 2021. In 2022, hypertension will still often be on the list of the top 10 diseases treated by the Cimandala Community Health Center.

With these problems, the Cimandala Community Health Center launched an innovation, namely KA SAKTI, to make it easier to monitor hypertension patients in the Cimandala Community Health Center working area.

"Hypertension is often called "the silent killer" because it often goes without complaints, so sufferers don't know that they have hypertension, but then find out that they already have a disease or complications from hypertension," said Sulasiah, Monday (22/7/2024).

He explained that hypertension is now a major problem, not only in Indonesia but in the world, because hypertension is one of the entry points or risk factors for diseases such as heart disease, kidney failure, diabetes and stroke.

"The benefits of this KA SAKTI innovation can increase awareness of hypertensive patients, including hypertensive prolanis patients, in their adherence to taking medication, as well as having themselves checked consistently at the Cimandala Community Health Center," he said.

Sulasiah also said that the cause of hypertension is due to poor lifestyle habits and genetics. To prevent hypertension and other non-communicable diseases, new breakthrough steps need to be taken, namely through KA SAKTI innovation.
