PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi attended the Inauguration and Inauguration of the DPP Management of the Indonesian Community Empowerment Institute (LPM) at the Merdeka Building, Bandung City, Friday (7/8/2026).

Ahmad Doli Kurnia Tandjung was elected as the General Chairperson of the Indonesian Community Empowerment Institute (LPM) for the 2025-2030 period.

"I hope LPM will become a driving force and working partner for West Java Province in accelerating development in villages and sub-districts, such as river dredging, road paving, building houses for the poor, and installing electricity networks," he said.

LPMs can also play a role in accelerating the distribution of funding from the province to villages. LPMs are also expected to maintain environmentally-based village development.

In addition, KDM - Dedi Mulyadi's nickname - also hopes that LPM can improve the village economy so that there are no more cases of human trafficking due to the lure of large salaries in the city or even abroad.

"I apologize. There are 12 West Java residents working at an entertainment venue in Maumere. They are being paid inadequate wages, and there has been abuse and harassment. I am working to repatriate them, and the owner of the venue is facing criminal proceedings. We will continue to support them," explained KDM.

KDM also urged West Java residents to reduce their online gambling habits. He deeply regretted the fact that online gambling revenue in West Java reached Rp 2.5 trillion. Similarly, large online loans were also involved.

Another message from KDM is related to the circulation of tramadol which has reached shops in rural areas.

"All citizens must create a structured movement, from the central government to the regional governments, to resist. This is not just a crime, but a global problem that could cripple the future of the nation's children and future generations," he said.

The General Chairperson of the Indonesian Community Empowerment Institute (LPM), Ahmad Doli Kurnia Tandjung, stated his commitment to making LPM a strategic partner of the government in accelerating village development through an approach that directly involves the community.

According to him, Indonesia's progress must begin with accelerating village development with a strategy that is no longer entirely top-down, but rather prioritizes a bottom-up approach through community participation.

Doli also warned of various social threats that are believed to be eroding the lives of rural communities. He cited drug abuse, violence against children, human trafficking (TPPO), and LGBT issues as issues that require collective attention.

According to him, these various problems have the potential to weaken society if not prevented early on.
