PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi fully supports the police's duties in securing and ensuring the smooth flow of homecoming traffic during the Eid al-Fitr 1447 H holiday.

When met after breaking the fast with National Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo and community members at the West Java Regional Police Headquarters, Dedi stated that the West Java Provincial Government would not burden the police with securing the homecoming traffic. Instead, they would help ensure the smooth flow of the homecoming traffic by compensating drivers of public transportation, pedicabs, and horse-drawn carriages (andongs) on the homecoming route so they could temporarily suspend operations.

"The West Java Provincial Government will not burden the National Police too heavily. I have reported to the Regional Police Chief that all homecoming routes with public transportation (angkot), pedicabs, andongs (andongs) and various other vehicles will be closed before and after Eid al-Fitr," said Dedi, Wednesday (4/3/2026).

KDM, as he is familiarly known, continued, those who stop operating for one week will be given pocket money.

This way, there will be no obstructions in the homecoming traffic flow in the West Java region, so that people heading to Central Java and East Java can pass through West Java comfortably.

Inauguration of uninhabitable houses

At the same location, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo expressed his honor to be present at the iftar event and to socialize with members of the West Java community. While enjoying typical iftar dishes, Listyo chatted casually with community members such as motorcycle taxi drivers, laborers, and students.

"We were honored to be present at the iftar event and to socialize with the West Java community from various backgrounds, including motorcycle taxi drivers, laborers, and students," he said.

According to Listyo, this proves that the people of West Java can maintain unity and togetherness well.

He advised that the key to maintaining stability and public order and security is through togetherness, as was done today.

Meanwhile, West Java Regional Police Chief Inspector General Rudi Setiawan said that one of the aims of the Ramadan safari event was to increase cooperation in accordance with the West Java Regional Police principle of Sauyunan Jaga Lembur.

On that occasion, Rudi reported that to address extreme poverty, the West Java Regional Police had built 168 affordable housing units under the Rutilahu program. Several beneficiaries symbolically received the house keys from the National Police Chief.

"People will feel more comfortable and safe living in their new homes," Rudi concluded.
