PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - At the West Java Regional Police Headquarters, West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi, West Java Regional Police Chief Inspector General Pipit Rismanto together with the West Java Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda) destroyed evidence of crimes such as non-standard exhausts (brong exhausts), liquor and OKT drugs (certain hard drugs) such as tramadol and others.

KDM—the governor's nickname—appreciated the West Java Regional Police and its staff for their efforts in protecting and maintaining public order and security in West Java. He specifically commended the West Java Regional Police for their diligent raids on illegal exhausts.

"The road is not a hub of noise. The road is not a hub of chaos. The road is not a hub of conflict. Therefore, we must start by disciplining motorized vehicle drivers, especially those on two wheels, to use standard exhausts," he stressed, Friday (August 7, 2026).

From his experience in Lembur Pakuan, even since becoming a member of the DPR, he is used to controlling motorbikes with noisy exhausts.

"In the future, the West Java Provincial Government will prepare standard exhaust pipes as replacements. I will entrust them to the traffic police unit, who will store them at the police post. The exhaust pipes will be replaced on the spot, and then they can go home," he explained.

However, exhaust replacement isn't available for all motorcycles. It's only applicable to basic motorcycles whose owners can't afford a standard exhaust, which costs up to Rp 400,000.

Governor KDM also appreciated the West Java Regional Police for actively conducting raids on alcoholic beverages, narcotics and certain hard drugs such as tramadol.

"Why is this a focus? First, it's easy for the public to access. It's available in small stalls along the roadside. So my policy is that if a structure is found, it must be immediately demolished," he stressed.

West Java Regional Police Chief Inspector General Pipit Rismanto stated that from June to August 2026, the West Java Regional Police successfully uncovered 352 street crimes, with 413 perpetrators arrested. Furthermore, they confiscated 1,016 motorcycles and 12 four-wheeled vehicles from motor vehicle theft cases.

In addition to street crime, the operation also targeted narcotics, psychotropic drugs, certain hard drugs, and alcoholic beverages. Among the confiscated items were 1,718.43 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 2,917 grams of marijuana, 612 ecstasy pills, 618.86 grams of synthetic tobacco, 822 psychotropic pills, and 2.72 million pills of certain hard drugs, such as tramadol. Furthermore, the police seized 25,000 bottles of various brands of alcoholic beverages.

Specifically for specific hard drugs of concern to the governor, the West Java Regional Police have enforced 115 cases involving 128 suspects. Thus, in narcotics and certain hard drug cases, the West Java Regional Police have saved 3.1 million lives and secured over Rp20 billion in evidence.
