PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi stated that one of the goals of renovating the Gedung Sate courtyard is to allow for more freedom and smoother public activities. The redevelopment will also improve traffic flow in front of Gedung Sate or on Jalan Diponegoro.

Dedi said that activities such as demonstrations in front of Gedung Sate often disrupt traffic. Jalan Diponegoro has to be closed during demonstrations, causing congestion.

Such conditions will no longer exist after the renovation of the Gedung Sate courtyard. The public will still be able to voice their concerns in front of the West Java government building without any vehicle obstructions.

Meanwhile, traffic will not be disrupted by public activity in front of Gedung Sate, as it will be diverted around the Pullman Hotel. Vehicles will no longer be able to pass in front of Gedung Sate.

"In the future, Jalan Diponegoro will remain open, it will not be disturbed by activities in front of Gedung Sate," said KDM, Dedi Mulyadi's nickname, Wednesday (15/4/2026).

KDM confirmed that the arrangement of the Gedung Sate courtyard will not change any existing important elements, including the Ministry of Public Works' stone inscription in the area.

The renovation of the Gedung Sate courtyard will also enhance the area's aesthetics. The courtyard will be level with the Gasibu courtyard, creating a more unified look.

"The yard will be open wider and wider," said KDM.
