PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - West Java Governor, Dedi Mulyadi, emphasized that the military barracks program for troubled teenagers aims to form disciplined, independent characters, and restore the identity of teenagers as the next generation of the nation.

According to KDM - Dedi Mulyadi's nickname - the rise in brutal behavior and criminal acts among teenagers is a shared responsibility between parents and the state.

"We must not lose a generation that should have noble qualities as Indonesian people," said KDM, Tuesday (29/4/2025)

This military barracks program emphasizes a discipline-based educational approach, not the militarization of war. Activities in this program include sports, arts, development of interests and talents, and the habituation of healthy lifestyles, starting from regular eating, drinking, to keeping participants away from cigarettes and illegal drugs.

KDM emphasized that children's participation in this program must have parental consent, considering that they are still under guardianship.

In addition, participants maintain their status as students at their original school and participate in teaching and learning activities at the military barracks.

"This is a form of our joint effort to save children from the threat of free association, unhealthy use of gadgets, and malnutrition due to irregular eating patterns," he continued.

The West Java Provincial Government hopes that through this program, the younger generation can grow into solid, strong, and great individuals, and be ready to face future challenges.
