PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Bandung Mayor, Muhammad Farhan assessed that sub-districts, Babinsa, and Bhabinkamtibmas are the front guard in keeping Bandung City orderly and conducive. The synergy of the three pillars greatly supports various development programs in Bandung City.

​"The challenges in building the city of Bandung are not easy. From public order, waste management, economic recovery, to building social resilience amidst the dynamics of society," he said at the Gathering with the Three Regional Pillars, at the Pendopo of Bandung City, Wednesday (3/26/2025).

According to him, solid synergy and effective communication are needed between the government, TNI, and Polri at the regional level.

​"During the pandemic, we worked hand in hand to enforce health protocols and distribute social assistance. In the midst of economic recovery efforts, we also worked hard to ensure that MSMEs rose, food security was maintained, and community welfare remained a priority," he said for example.

Farhan reiterated several priority programs of the City of Bandung that require full support from three pillars:

1. waste management and environmental management

Bandung City is still faced with waste problems. Various efforts, including reducing waste flow and developing waste processing systems.

The role of Babinsa and Bhabinkamtibmas is very important in assisting the community to be more disciplined in sorting waste starting from households.

2. Increasing social resilience and regional security

These three pillars must ensure that Bandung remains a safe, comfortable, and friendly city for all. Collaboration with community leaders and youth is also important to prevent potential conflicts and juvenile delinquency.

3. Economic recovery and support for MSMEs for the Free Nutritious Meals program

This must be monitored together so that the benefits are truly felt by the community. In addition, the development of the creative economy, including the local technology and game sectors, must continue to be encouraged so that Bandung remains a city of innovation.

4. Strengthening community participation and public service innovation

All public services at the sub-district level continue to be improved, both in terms of ease of access and transparency. Technology must be utilized to facilitate public affairs.

Meanwhile, the Assistant for Government and Social Welfare of Bandung City, Asep Saeful Gufron, said that sub-districts were formed in order to improve coordination of government administration, public services and community empowerment.

"The sub-district head, in accordance with his authority, must be able to optimize the implementation of his duties while maintaining synergy with elements of the police, TNI and other vertical agencies in the region as well as maintaining harmonious relations with religious leaders and community leaders," explained Asep.

"In addition to the role of organizing general affairs, it is also expected to be able to synergize to jointly handle city problems to ensure peace and order in the environment during Eid al-Fitr, handling waste problems and disturbances to security and order," he added.
