PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Government is targeting increased fiscal independence through optimizing Regional Original Income (PAD).

Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan stated that the PAD contribution is targeted to cover more than 60 percent of total regional income in the 2027 Draft APBD discussion.

He made this statement while leading the Start of Work Roll Call at the Bandung City Hall Plaza, Monday (21/9/2026).

To achieve this target, Farhan asked the Bandung City Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) to be more creative and aggressive in exploring various legitimate and sustainable sources of income.

"I ask Bapenda to continue to be creative and aggressive in seeking various ways to increase local revenue," he said.

According to Farhan, increasing PAD is a strategic step to strengthen regional financial capacity in financing development and public services.

However, he said, efforts to increase revenue must be accompanied by strengthening integrity and strict supervision.

"We must not let increased revenue create new problems. Integrity must be the foundation of every regional revenue management process," he said.

In addition to optimizing revenue from the tax and levy sector, Farhan encourages the birth of various innovations that can expand the regional revenue base without burdening the community.

By strengthening PAD, Farhan hopes to have greater fiscal space to accelerate development, improve the quality of public services, and realize various priority programs of Bandung Utama.

"We want to build strong fiscal independence, but this must be achieved in a transparent, professional, and accountable manner," he said.

It should be noted that in the 2027 Draft Regional Budget (APBD), the Bandung City Government targets regional revenue of up to IDR 7.46 trillion. This represents a 3.74 percent increase compared to the 2026 APBD . (Bandung City Communications and Information Service/rka)
