PORTALJABAR, CIANJUR REGENCY - PT PLN (Persero) has successfully restored 100% of the electricity system in the Cianjur area which was affected by landslides and floods.
PLN's quick action in making repairs paid off, at exactly 01.38 WIB in the morning, 22,416 customers were able to enjoy electricity again.
The disaster that hit Cianjur Regency resulted in the cutting off of several main roads, including the Tanggeung-Sukanagara Highway, Pasir Kuda Road, and access to Sukamaju Village in Tanggeung District. This condition had hampered the mobilization of equipment and field teams, but with the support of the TNI, Basarnas, and the local government, temporary access was successfully opened to speed up the recovery process.
General Manager of PLN West Java Distribution Unit, Agung Murdifi, said that amidst the challenges of difficult terrain and extreme weather conditions, we continue to make maximum efforts so that electricity can be restored immediately.
"Despite the challenging terrain conditions, our entire team went all out and succeeded in restoring all substations and feeders in the Cianjur area early this morning," said Agung in his press release, Saturday ( 7/12/2024 ).
Agung added that the recovery steps were carried out with a mature strategy, such as the deployment of hundreds of personnel and 15 operational vehicles that continued to work day and night to accelerate network repairs.
Thanks to the collaboration and support from the West Java Government, BNPB, TNI, Basarnas, and the local community, the recovery process can be completed more quickly.
"With the return of electricity supply, we hope that community activities and the economy in Cianjur can return to normal. PLN will continue to be on standby to ensure the sustainability of electricity supply in this area," said Agung.
Furthermore, Agung appealed to the entire community to remain vigilant and continue to use electricity safely amidst extreme weather.
"We urge the public to remain vigilant. Please ensure that electrical installations are safe, and if you find any potential electrical hazards, customers can report them via the PLN Mobile application or the 123 contact center which is always ready and on standby 24 hours," he concluded.
