PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Cibuntu Subdistrict, which was previously known for its tofu products, plans to re-popularize tofu as its culinary identity.
Although there are currently no tofu factories operating in the area, the Head of Cibunt Village, Teguh Furqoni Syahbana, has the ambition to revive this product with a more modern and innovative concept.
Teguh said that one of the efforts to attract the market's attention, especially children, is through unique tofu shapes, such as stars and dolls.
"We want to bring Cibuntu tofu back to popularity. With a fresher and more attractive appearance for the younger generation. This is also part of our efforts to involve young entrepreneurs to be involved in local product innovation," he said in Cibuntu Village, Bandung Kulon District, Thursday (10/24/2024).
Teguh plans to establish a tofu factory in Cibuntu to realize this plan.
According to him, the people in Cibuntu are very solid and fully support every economic development program carried out in this sub-district.
Cibuntu sub-district itself is famous for its home industry potential, especially in the field of t-shirt and school uniform convection.
The school uniform production center located on Jalan Haji Anwar has grown rapidly and become an important part of the local economy.
Amidst the dense settlements that are a challenge, Teguh remains optimistic about the great potential of this sub-district.
In Cibuntu Subdistrict there is also "Saung Mang Cucu," a program that invites children to read books while waiting, in order to foster an interest in reading from an early age.
This program will be part of regular visits by local schools to the village.
With the potential that continues to grow and innovation in various sectors, Cibuntu Village is ready to move forward, combining tradition and innovation to bring the name Cibuntu back to be widely known, both in the culinary field and other industries. (Diskominfo Kota Bandung/Revo)
