Domestic Industry Independence, PT INTI Ready to Produce 1.7 Million Bank Mandiri Prepaid Cards

PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - PT Industri Telekomunikasi Indonesia (PT INTI) is ready to work on the production of prepaid cards belonging to PT Bank Mandiri. The plan is to produce 1.7 million units of prepaid cards by the end of 2024.

Based on the results of the final evaluation of the e-Auction, PT INTI will produce around 35% of Bank Mandiri's total prepaid card requirements of 5.1 million units during 2024. The plan is that PT INTI will provide 1.7 million units of prepaid cards with a production capacity amounting to 200,000 units per month.

PT INTI Senior Vice President Corporate Secretary, this collaboration is a real collaboration between BUMN entities in realizing the independence of domestic industry in the manufacturing sector.

"The hope is that this strategic cooperation will continue on an ongoing basis in the 2024 fiscal year," said Delvia Damayanti, Thursday (16/05/2024).

E-money is a payment instrument in the form of electronic money that can be stored on a device such as a chip or server. This payment instrument which has a high level of security allows users to make transactions using cards or other storage media such as applications, without the need to spend physical money.

Based on data released by Bank Indonesia, total shopping transactions via e-money in Indonesia reached IDR 166.60 trillion as of October 2023. This figure shows an increase of 5 percent from the previous month, as well as an increase of 25 percent when compared to the same period in previous year. Bank Indonesia also recorded that there were 777.3 million units of cards or e-money instruments in circulation during that period.

PT INTI Deputy Executive General Manager Sales and Marketing Ichtiar Fachruddin explained that the Company also aims to be able to handle the need for prepaid cards of 4.5 million units from three national banks throughout 2024.

"This rapid development shows that e-money has become a potential payment method for business growth in Indonesia. "This year alone, there is a potential market share of around IDR 3 trillion that can be exploited," said Ichtiar Fachruddin.

Apart from prepaid cards, PT Inti has also recorded performance supported by the acquisition of a number of national scale strategic projects such as, Centralization of Online Driving License (SIM) Applications throughout Indonesia from the Traffic Corps (Korlantas) of the Indonesian National Police (Polri).

Development and Implementation of Electromagnetic Compability (EMC) Measuring Instruments at the Telecommunications Equipment Testing Center (BBPPT) which are used to carry out aspects of technical suitability assessment (testing) of Telecommunications Equipment and Equipment which must fulfill EMC obligations.

Construction of Solar Powered Public Street Lighting (PJU-TS) in the Indonesian Region for 27 Provinces, with a total location distribution of around 10,468 points as well as Cultivation of Out Site Plant business projects in the Sumatra, Kalimantan and West Java regions from three national state-owned and private companies, which will continues to be expanded to all telecommunication companies in Indonesia.
