PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Ministry of Human Rights (HAM) invites West Java students to become pioneers in instilling humanitarian values in schools and the community.

The message was conveyed by the Minister of Human Rights, Natalius Pigai, through a speech read by the Director General of Human Rights Services and Compliance, Munafrizal Manan, at the West Java Human Rights Forum (JHRF) 2026: Book Review and Talkshow on Strengthening Human Rights at the Ki Hajar Dewantara Hall, West Java Education Office, Bandung City, Wednesday (29/7/2026).

In his remarks, he emphasized that the participants who attended were not merely attending the activities, but were expected to become agents of change who spread the values of human rights.

"Your presence here is not just as participants, but as pioneers in voicing human rights values in your respective communities," he said.

He explained that human rights values have actually been introduced through the Pancasila and Citizenship Education (PPKn) subject.

Through this forum, this understanding is strengthened so that it can be applied in everyday life.

According to him, students need to have the courage to voice humanitarian values, reject all forms of discrimination, respect diversity, and create an inclusive environment.

"Big changes always start with small steps. Start by not bullying, not spreading hate speech, and practicing mutual respect," he said.

He hopes that this activity will provide provisions for the younger generation to grow as future national leaders who have a high concern for human rights and are able to maintain a peaceful life amidst diversity.
