PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) gives appreciation to retailers in Bandung City who have implemented the Waste-Friendly Supermarket Concept.
Director of Waste Reduction at the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Vinda Damayanti Ansjar, said that the Smart Waste Hub facility implemented by Super Indo in Bandung City is very helpful in reducing waste.
Vinda hopes that the Smart Waste Hub Facility can help the government in its efforts to reduce waste, especially plastic waste which must be reduced by 2025 by up to 30 percent.
"We hope that the collaborative ecosystem implemented can help other producers and retailers to emulate this program," said Vinda, Thursday (29/2/2024)
Super Indo's General Manager of Corporate Affairs & Sustainability, Yuvlinda Susanta, revealed that Bandung City will become a pilot city for Waste-Friendly Supermarkets through the Smart Waste Hub Facility in each of our outlets.
"Trash Friendly Supermarket is a sustainability initiative with two important aspects, namely carrying out waste management with a 3R approach on 100 percent of waste generated from operational activities so that it becomes zero to landfill and carrying out public education to change waste habits that have a bad impact on the environment," he said.
In this public education effort, the outlet introduced Plastic Packaging Waste Collection Points in collaboration with Waste Hubs Indonesia, and supported by P&G Indonesia.
The types of waste that can be collected include several types of plastic packaging for Super Indo 365 products and P&G Indonesia products. People who have participated in this program and have met the requirements, will get points and they will be collected in the WAHU application into e-wallet balance and shopping vouchers.
P&G Indonesia Marketing Head and Sustainability Leader Jonn Terence Dy, said he was happy and appreciated the collaboration in efforts to reduce waste through the Waste-Friendly Supermarket Concept with Smart Waste Hub Facilities.
According to Jonn, environmental sustainability is an integral part of running a business. The company always focuses on developing various innovative programs and products that not only have superior quality, but are also environmentally sustainable.
"Through collaboration, we hope to strengthen joint efforts in protecting the environment, so that more consumers are involved in waste sorting and management programs, in order to produce a greater positive impact on the environment," he explained.
Meanwhile, the Regional Government of Bandung City gives appreciation and support to retailers in Bandung City who have implemented the Waste-Friendly Supermarket Concept through the Smart Waste Hub Facility.
