PORTALJABAR, BOGOR REGENCY - Thousands of supervisors of the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections in West Java attended the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Election Supervisors' Alert Roll Call at Pakansari Stadium, Bogor Regency, Friday (11/22/2024).
The activity initiated by the West Java Provincial Bawaslu is an important momentum to strengthen the readiness of supervision during the quiet period, voting, and vote counting in the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections.
Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin, in his remarks, emphasized the importance of focusing on three main things to realize a peaceful and democratic West Java Pilkada.
"Neutrality, public participation, and collaborative oversight are the keys to our success in maintaining the quality of democracy," said Bey.
"This neutrality is the foundation of public trust in the integrity of the election," he added.
Bey also invited the public to play an active role in maintaining a peaceful atmosphere and avoiding hoaxes and provocations that damage democratic values.
“Community involvement is an important element to ensure the election process runs smoothly,” he said.
Regarding collaborative supervision, Bey said,
Cooperation between Bawaslu, KPU, regional governments, TNI/Polri, political parties, and the community is considered very strategic to prevent potential election vulnerabilities.
"Collaboration is the best way to overcome challenges that may arise," he said.
Bey also gave appreciation to Bawaslu Jabar for its initiative to hold intensive surveillance patrols during the quiet period until the vote counting process. This step is considered effective in preventing violations such as money politics, intimidation, and covert campaigns.
"We ensure that the Pilkada in West Java is honest, transparent, fair, and peaceful. This is our shared responsibility," he said.
If the three important things are implemented well, Bey is optimistic that the West Java Pilkada will be a successful example of the implementation of the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada which is safe, fair, and democratic.
