PORTALJABAR, BEKASI REGENCY - The Bekasi Regency Government is encouraging community organizations (ormas) to strengthen their role in maintaining community unity, especially following the implementation of Village Head Elections (Pilkades) in several areas of Bekasi Regency.
This message was conveyed by the Acting Head of the National Unity and Politics Agency (Kesbangpol) of Bekasi Regency, Robert Suwandi, during the Community Organization Development activity in Weaving Unity and Oneness in the Bekasi Regency Area, which was held at the Wibawa Mukti Building, Bekasi Regency Government Complex, Tuesday (29/9/2026).
Robert stated that the event featured speakers from the Bekasi Regency District Attorney's Office, the Bekasi Metro Police, and the 0509/Bekasi Regency Military District Command (Kodim). This training is part of an effort to strengthen the contribution of community organizations in creating a safe and conducive community environment.
"Today's activity is with mass organizations, with speakers from the Bekasi District Attorney's Office, the Bekasi Metro Police, and the Bekasi District Military Command 0509. We're taking the theme of mass organizations maintaining unity," said Robert.
He believes that the existence of mass organizations plays a crucial role in assisting the government in maintaining social stability. Furthermore, following the village head elections, differences in preferences and friction within the community can arise, which must be managed wisely.
"The post-village head election situation could create some friction in society. Therefore, we are reactivating the functions of our community organizations to promote community peace and prevent further divisions," he said.
Robert emphasized that maintaining security and order is not solely the responsibility of the government and security forces. Community organizations also have the opportunity to play an active role in building communication and maintaining social relations within the community.
"So, it's not just government officials, but also mass organizations that play an active role in maintaining unity in society," he said.
In addition to strengthening social roles, Kesbangpol also continues to encourage the restructuring of community organizations, including legal aspects. Robert urged organizations that have not yet registered to do so immediately in accordance with applicable regulations.
"We urge those who have not registered their mass organizations in Bekasi Regency to obtain their mass organization's mark in Bekasi Regency," he stressed.
He also stated that the regional government is open to input from community organizations regarding development implementation. This openness will continue to be implemented in accordance with regulations regarding public information and government authority.
"Regarding the implementation of development in Bekasi Regency, I ask that we support each other," explained Robert.
Robert hopes that the synergy between local governments, security forces, and community organizations can continue to be strengthened through constructive communication. This way, community organizations will not only fulfill their organizational functions but also make positive contributions to community life.
"The role of mass organizations in Bekasi Regency is to create a sense of security, comfort, and conduciveness in Bekasi Regency, so that Bekasi can rise, progress, and prosper," he concluded. (Bekasi Regency Communications and Information Office/rka)
