PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Chairman of the Bandung City DPRD, Asep Mulyadi, appreciated the steps taken by the Bandung City Regional Government (Pemda) to go directly to the field to ensure price stability at the Caringin Main Market.

However, he also highlighted several things that need to be fixed, including waste management and arranging the market to make it more comfortable for buyers.

"We thank the Bandung City Government for taking the initiative to check prices directly in the field. But if the market location is tidier and the visuals are more pleasing, people will be more comfortable shopping. This will also strengthen Bandung City as an economic center," said Asep at the Caringin Main Market, Bandung City, Sunday (2/3/2025).

He hopes that Caringin Main Market can become a more organized and comfortable market. In addition, Asep highlighted the problem of waste in the market which is still a challenge.

"We urge suppliers to be responsible for the waste they produce. Don't let this become a burden for the government. But, on the other hand, the government must also work with the private sector to solve this problem," he stressed.

Responding to this, Mayor Farhan said that waste management must be handled immediately without having to wait for national projects such as Legok Nangka to be completed.

"We cannot wait for Legok Nangka to be completed. It is indeed a national strategic program, but we must do something now before the waste situation becomes more urgent," said Farhan.

He also emphasized that spatial planning will be the basis for the Bandung City Government to invite market property owners to adjust to the renovation plan.

"If the renovation is done together, the impact will be better for all parties," he said. (Bandung City Communication and Information Service/rka)
