PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Chairperson of the West Java Province Family Welfare Movement (TP PKK), Samantha Dewi, emphasized that the development of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) is not merely about economic activities, but is also closely related to efforts to improve family welfare.

This was conveyed by Samantha when attending the Launching of Bank Syariah Mandiri (BSM) UMKM as well as the opening of the Red and White Gateball Tournament in order to enliven the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia at Bikasoga Gateball, Bandung City, Saturday (8/8/2026).

According to Samantha, behind the existence of an MSME is the passion, hard work, and hope of a family who wants to have a more prosperous life.

"For me, MSMEs aren't just about business and economics. They involve passion, hard work, families we want to support, and many hopes we're fighting for," said the wife of West Java Deputy Governor Erwan Setiawan.

Therefore, he welcomed the presence of the BSM MSME Program which is expected to provide a space for business actors to continue growing.

He hopes the program will not only provide support for business activities but also create a space for sharing experiences and strengthening capacity among MSME actors.

"I hope this BSM MSME program can truly become a space for mutual learning, mutual empowerment, and open up more opportunities for MSMEs to develop and advance," he said.

Samantha also expressed her appreciation to the SM Foundation and PURIS Jabar Padjadjaran University for presenting the program.

He believes that empowering MSMEs becomes even more meaningful when built through a spirit of togetherness and collaboration. This is because stronger MSMEs are expected to open up more opportunities for the community to increase economic independence.

Support a Healthy Lifestyle

On the other hand, Samantha assessed that the launch of BSM MSMEs, which was combined with the Red and White Gateball Tournament, presented a positive combination of economic empowerment and a healthy lifestyle.

"This is a great combination. It's both a spirit of economic empowerment and a spirit of healthy living through sports," he said.

According to him, gateball can be a sport that supports community fitness because it trains body movement, coordination, concentration, and dexterity.

Through active and collaborative sports activities, Samantha hopes that the people of West Java will become healthier, fitter, happier, and have a positive spirit for life.

He also hopes that the entire series of activities will provide benefits and open up new opportunities for the people of West Java.

"Hopefully, today's activities will bring benefits, open up new opportunities, and be the beginning of an independent, healthy, and competitive West Java," said Samantha.

On this occasion, the Chairperson of the West Java PKK TP also invited all participants to uphold sportsmanship and maintain the spirit of brotherhood.

"Let's pour out our energy and love for our country by upholding sportsmanship, maintaining the spirit of brotherhood, and making every match a moment to achieve and strengthen togetherness," he concluded.
