PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The 216th anniversary of Bandung City (HJKB) was celebrated in Andir District. Residents, along with the local government, held the Pesona Nusantara Cultural Parade, showcasing diverse Indonesian cultures and serving as a platform to strengthen unity and diversity.

The activity received praise from Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan. He said the diversity displayed by Andir residents illustrates Bandung as a city open to everyone.

"This is a source of pride for us in Bandung City, we can all showcase our extraordinary diversity," said Farhan at the Pesona Nusantara Cultural Parade in Andir District, Saturday (26/9/2026).

According to him, unity, diversity and the spirit of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika are not something that can be taken for granted, but must continue to be maintained and fought for together.

Farhan said that the Bandung City Government and the Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) will continue to work hand in hand with the community to maintain the integrity, unity, and diversity of Bandung City.

"I, along with the members of the Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD), will certainly work hand in hand with the residents to maintain the integrity, unity, and diversity of the City of Bandung," he said.

Meanwhile, Andir Sub-district Head Jon Heri explained that the Pesona Nusantara Cultural Parade was held as part of the 216th HJKB series. The event's concept specifically highlighted the cultural diversity of various regions in Indonesia.

"Bandung is full of diversity. Differences don't divide us; instead, they create potential for us to continue working together, strengthening us, and making Bandung even more advanced," said Jon.

The parade showcased various cultures from Indonesia's major islands. The event not only featured a cultural parade but also included a SME exhibition, arts and cultural performances, and live music.

Jon stated that there were 35 booths at the event, nearly 20 of which were owned by MSMEs from Andir District.

The involvement of MSMEs is a key component of this event. Besides enlivening the HJKB (Hash Market), this event is expected to provide a promotional platform and stimulate local economic activity.

"We want to improve the community's economy by involving MSMEs and empowering them in Andir District," he said.

Jon hopes that the spirit of diversity displayed through the Pesona Nusantara Cultural Parade will not stop with the HJKB momentum. He believes that diversity must continue to be nurtured as a community strength for the development of Andir District and the city of Bandung.

"Our hope is that Bandung will continue to progress, and for the residents of Andir District, we must continue to nurture diversity as a potential, as a foundation for us to become even stronger and more united," he said. (Bandung City Communications and Information Office/rka)
