PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The inaugural Padjadjaran Cultural Parade, "Napak Tilas Padjadjaran," ran smoothly and enthusiastically, with the theme "Binokasih Mulang Salaka." Sumedang Regency served as the starting point for the event, which showcased the rich arts and culture of West Java.

The procession which was held on Saturday night (2/5/2026) started from the State Building and Geusan Ulun Museum area towards the Sumedang Regency government center with a distance of around 2-3 kilometers.

The procession began with a horse procession led by West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi. Behind him were three carriages, including one carrying the Binokasih Crown, a symbol of Sundanese cultural greatness. The procession concluded with performances by 27 leading arts artists from regencies and cities across West Java, captivating the crowds along the route.

Dedi Mulyadi expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the extended family of the Sumedang Larang Palace for their support in carrying out the procession. "Thank you for giving us the space to work together to restore the charisma of Indonesia's crown," he said.

The event, which began at 8:00 PM WIB (Western Indonesian Time), concluded around 10:00 PM WIB. The crowd's enthusiasm continued until the final location, where traditional arts and music performances were held, attended by Dedi and his daughter.

Head of the West Java Province Communication and Informatics Office, Adi Komar, emphasized that the cultural parade is part of the regional government's commitment to developing West Java as a whole, not only in terms of infrastructure but also its people and culture.

"Through this cultural parade, the public can directly witness the Governor's commitment to human and cultural development, while also encouraging the growth of MSMEs and infrastructure development in West Java," he said.

The procession then continued to Ciamis Regency on Sunday (May 3, 2026), carrying the theme "Kawali Mulang ka Diri." There, the Binokasih Crown was paraded on a horse-drawn carriage from Kawali Square to the Astana Gede Kawali, a distance of approximately 1 kilometer.

Dedi Mulyadi hopes the Padjadjaran Remembrance Remembrance program will strengthen regional development, particularly in Ciamis, which has been proposed as Galuh Regency. He also emphasized his commitment to upholding ancestral values such as deudeuhan (compassion), welasan (compassion), and asihan (compassion) in leadership. "No sick person should go untreated, no one should be deprived of education," he asserted.

He also invited the community to protect the environment, including rivers, dams, rice fields and gardens as part of a shared responsibility in preserving ancestral heritage.

The Tatar Sunda Cultural Parade is not only a space for cultural expression, but also strengthens community togetherness and encourages local economic movement in the various regions it passes through.
