
PORTALJABAR, BOGOR REGENCY - The Binokasih Crown will be paraded again in Bogor Regency. The parade will begin from Cibeureum Village, Cisarua, and proceed to Pura Agung Parahyangan Jagatkarta, Tamansari, on April 21-22, 2026.
This activity is not only a cultural attraction, but also a momentum to remember the historical glory and noble values inherited from Sundanese civilization.
For your information, the Binokasih Crown (Binokasih Sanghyang Pake) is a 14th-century heirloom crown from the Sunda Kingdom, made of 8 kg of pure gold and jade. This crown symbolizes the king's power, justice, and compassion (bina kasih).
Now, the original crown is kept in the Prabu Geusan Ulun Museum, Sumedang, while the replica is in the Sri Baduga Museum, Bandung.
Acting Head of the Bogor Regency Cultural Service, Yudi Santosa, explained that the Binokasih Crown Parade held in Bogor Regency was not only a cultural event full of meaning, but also a momentum for strengthening identity and historical education for the younger generation.
"The presence of the Binokasih Crown heirloom serves as a reminder of the importance of preserving the noble values of Sundanese culture, while also encouraging concrete preservation efforts through education," Yudi explained.
Yudi revealed that the crown's arrival in Bogor Regency was greeted with reverence and pride by the community. He hopes this parade will inspire renewed enthusiasm for cultural preservation and instill local wisdom in the younger generation.
Furthermore, Radya Anom Keraton Sumedang Larang, Luky Djohari Soemawilaga emphasized that the Binokasih Crown procession is not just a ceremony, but is full of deep philosophical, ideological, and historical meaning.
"This Crown Procession is not just a ceremonial activity, but contains a very deep essence, philosophical meaning, and philosophy for the Sundanese people," he said.
He explained that the Binokasih Crown is a symbol of Sundanese legitimacy and holds profound historical value. It is a symbol of Sundanese majesty and an important historical marker in the history of civilization.
Radya Anom also highlighted the significant role of Sri Baduga Maharaja, also known as Prabu Siliwangi, in successfully uniting two major kingdoms in Tatar Sunda: the Galuh Kingdom and the Sunda Kingdom. Under his leadership, the seat of government was moved to Pakuan Pajajaran, now located in the Bogor area.
