PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - A variety of things happened on the pitch during the Persib Juara Mapag event on Jalan Asia Afrika on Sunday (May 24, 2026). A unique incident was observed by the Bandung City Public Relations when a number of Bandung City Transportation Agency employees along with a number of police officers were going back and forth to the JPO stairs.

The officers were carrying small children or supporting adults who had difficulty walking. Upon approaching, they were apparently securing Bobotoh (fans) who were struggling to breathe due to the extremely crowded situation on Jalan Asia Afrika.

"Currently, there are 10 children separated from their parents, and there are also about five adults who need medical attention. That's what I've seen, and perhaps other officers can add to that," said Budiman, an officer from the Bandung City Transportation Agency who works in the Facilities and Infrastructure Division.

Access to the crowded Asia Afrika pedestrian bridge has forced joint security officers to open an emergency lane for residents who need medical assistance.

They were lifted across the barricade, and asked to leave the crowd to avoid any untoward incident.

Meanwhile, on the JPO side, Transportation Agency officers and police called the names of parents or colleagues of residents or bobotoh who were separated from their families while waiting for the arrival of the Persib players' group.

Furthermore, Budiman asked residents to restrain themselves and be patient while waiting for the arrival of the Persib players' group who were still on their way from Gedung Sate to Pendopo Kota Bandung.

"Also, for residents with children, the elderly, or those with physical limitations, it's best not to force yourself. Immediately find a safe place, away from crowds," he advised.
