PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. SUMEDANG - In order to help victims after the natural disaster of the earthquake in Sumedang Regency, Kodam III/Siliwangi provided basic food packages which were distributed through Kodim 0610/Sumedang, Wednesday ( 03/01/2024 ).

Basic food package assistance from Pangdam III/Slw Major General TNI Erwin Djatniko was distributed by the Commander of Kodim 0610/Sumedang Lt. Col. Kav Christian Gordon Rambu., to residents affected by the earthquake disaster.

"There are several areas in Sumedang Regency that were affected by the earthquake and it resulted in damage to house building infrastructure and other public facilities," said Christian.

The basic food package assistance was provided as a form of Kodam III/Slw's care and concern for the people of Sumedang who were affected by the earthquake.

"It is hoped that this can provide encouragement and ease the burden on people affected by the disaster," said Christian.

A total of 1,000 basic food packages from Pangdam III/Slw were given to the community and residents of the District Prison. Sumedang was most affected by the earthquake that occurred on New Year's Eve 2024.

"Hopefully the assistance from Pangdam III/Slw which is distributed through Kodim 0610/Smd can increase morale for victims affected by the natural disaster of the earthquake," he said.

Apart from that, Kodam III/Slw has also deployed its personnel to collaborate with elements of the Police, BPBD, Orari, Scouts and Tagana to help victims immediately after the disaster occurred until now after the emergency response status was determined.

"It has become a commitment that the TNI will always be present in society and always be a solution to society's difficulties," concluded Christian.
