PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. BEKASI - The Bekasi District Health Service (Dinkes) collaborated with USAID Prevent TB to hold a Face-to-Face Educational Meeting on the Benefits and Uses of Tuberculosis Prevention Therapy (TPT) which took place at the Tridayasakti Village Hall, Bekasi Regency, Monday (20/5/2024).

Program Manager or Deputy Assessor for the Bekasi Regency Health Office, Mulyaningsih, said that Bekasi Regency has carried out outreach with USAID at the 6 Community Health Centers, to prevent TB disease.

"Yes, we routinely carry out outreach at every Posyandu and every Puskesmas, because we have collaborated with Tuberculosis (TBC) specialist doctors, and now we have them in every Puskesmas for TB services," he said.

Mulyaningsih appreciated the outreach and assistance activities provided by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Prevent TB which were provided in the context of preventing and controlling Tuberculosis (TB) in the Bekasi Regency area.

"With this activity, more of our residents know the dangers of Tuberculosis and residents can take precautions. Residents can also be more open to the government or the Health Service so that we can overcome this disease," he said.

District Advocacy and Partnership Office (DAPO) Bekasi Regency Septia Rahmalina said, USAID Prevent TB is trying to increase awareness of people who are at high risk of contracting TB. This includes social behavior change communication strategies (SBCC), and reducing the spread of TB by increasing participation in TPT.

"By encouraging the practice of TPT, this activity supports Indonesia's goal of eliminating TB by 2030. That's why we went straight into the community for outreach," he said.
