PORTALJABAR, GARUT REGENCY - In an effort to help meet the need for blood stock while fostering social awareness among the community and the younger generation, a blood donation activity was held as part of the EXPRESSIA (Expression of Sport and Art) FMIPA 2026 series by the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of Garut University at Campus 3 of Garut University, Tarogong Kaler District, Sunday (28/6/2026).

The blood donation activity is the result of a collaboration between the Tarogong Kaler District PMI and the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Garut University as part of the EXPRESSIA 2026 series. Through this activity, students, lecturers, academics, and the community are given the opportunity to donate blood as a form of concern for others while supporting the availability of blood stocks for health services.

‎Besides being a humanitarian action, this activity also aims to increase public awareness of the importance of regular blood donation as a real contribution in helping patients who need blood transfusions.

The Head of the Tarogong Kaler District PMI, Nenden Ismayanti, appreciated the synergy between PMI and the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Garut University, in organizing social activities involving the younger generation.

"Blood donation is a humanitarian act that offers significant benefits to the community. Through this collaboration, we hope that more people, especially students, will become aware of the need to become regular blood donors so that the need for blood supplies can continue to be met," he said.

He added that the involvement of universities in humanitarian activities is a positive step to foster social awareness and expand education about the importance of blood donation among the younger generation.

The activity took place with great enthusiasm from the participants, who followed all stages of the blood donation program in accordance with health procedures. Support from various parties is expected to encourage the continued implementation of similar activities so that more people can benefit.

Through collaboration between the PMI Tarogong Kaler District and the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Garut University, this blood donation activity is expected to help maintain the availability of blood stocks while strengthening the culture of mutual cooperation and social awareness in the community.
