PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. GARUT - Acting Regent of Garut Barnas Adjidin attended the launch of the Free Homecoming Program organized by the Garut Police at the Garut Police Headquarters, Saturday (6/4/2024).

During the event, Barnas appreciated the Garut Police Chief, AKBP Rohman Yongky Dilatha, for the initiative to organize the Free Homecoming Program. He views this program as a form of concern from the government and TNI Polri in reducing costs and congestion during the homecoming season.

Barnas also emphasized the importance of safety while traveling, by providing guidance to drivers to avoid excessive speed and take adequate rest in rest areas.

"We ask for the safety of our citizens when returning home, and hopefully they will reach their destination happily," he said.

Barnas explained that previously his party had problems with collecting data on people who wanted to take part in the free homecoming program due to differences in the destination of the homecoming location. However, after going through various methods, finally the implementation of free homecoming can be implemented today.

"And actually, if there are two or three more buses tomorrow, we'll just leave, we're ready for that," he said.

Garut Police Chief AKBP Rohman Yongky Dilatha explained that the Free Homecoming Program was implemented simultaneously in all districts, including Garut Regency.

In collaboration with the Garut Regency Regional Government (Pemdakab), TNI, and other stakeholders, this program succeeded in transporting 150 homecoming travelers using the three buses provided.

"The total number is 150 travelers and their children, adjusted to the number of seats provided. They are divided into three buses, two buses in the south direction, then one bus in the north direction, for 50 people and 100 people," he said

This Free Homecoming Program provides the opportunity for the people of Garut to return home to several destinations such as Jogja, Solo, Cilacap, Sumedang and Cirebon.

The Garut Police Chief hopes that this initiative can reduce traffic jams and make things easier for people who want to go home.

"And thank God, there are 150 people who are willing to go home for free this year, especially in Garut alone," he said.
