PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Throughout 2023, PT PLN (Persero) West Java Distribution Main Unit recorded positive performance in the realization of home charging services for West Java customers.

Until December 2023, the number of customers using this service was 548 customers, an increase of 173.17%, from a total of 205 customers in 2022.

General Manager of PLN UID West Java, Susiana Mutia, said that most electric vehicle users charge their electric vehicles at home. According to him, this home charging service, which is very easy and convenient to charge, will further accelerate the growth of the battery-based electric vehicle ecosystem.

“Using home charging is very easy. Users can set the charging time at night and when it is full it will immediately stop. This is very convenient because while filling the car, the vehicle owner can do other activities or sleep. Then, the next morning the battery is full and the car is ready to be driven. "There's no need to queue at SPKLU," said Susiana in a press release.

Susiana detailed that the 5 regions with the highest number of PLN Home Charging customers are PLN UP3 Bandung, PLN UP3 Gunung Putri, PLN UP3 Bogor, PLN UP3 Bekasi, and PLN UP3 Depok.

Susiana explained, by using the home charging service, electric vehicle owners can manage transportation costs by viewing the charging history of their electric vehicle on PLN Mobile's Electric Vehicle Digital Services (EVDS). The calculation for charging electricity via home charging is clear because the electrical installation between home charging and home is different. The electricity tariff is also cheap because it uses household tariffs and there is even a 30% tariff discount for charging electric cars between 22.00-05.00.

Susiana is optimistic that in 2024, home charging services will be increasingly in demand by customers as there are more and more varied types of electric cars in Indonesia and their supporting infrastructure.

"Every year PLN continues to be committed to improving the infrastructure supporting electric vehicles, starting from charging station services to digital services, in addition to providing reliable and quality electricity," concluded Susiana. (Firm)
