KONI Garut Officially Opens the BKC KEJURDO for Garut Regency

PORTALJABAR, GARUT REGENCY - The General Chairman of the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) of Garut Regency, Subhan Rohmansyah, officially opened the Inter-Dojo Karate Championship (KEJURDO) of the Bandung Karate Club (BKC) throughout Garut Regency, which was held at the Ciateul Self-Defense Sports Hall, Tarogong Kidul District, Saturday (7/2/2026).

The event concluded with the inauguration of the BKC Garut Branch management. Subhan expressed his appreciation for the BKC's existence and congratulated Ridzki Ridznurdin, who was re-elected as General Chair of the BKC Garut Branch, along with the new management team.

"Hopefully, this management will remain united and united in building sporting achievements, especially karate, in Garut Regency," said Subhan.

Subhan emphasized that KEJURDO is a crucial foundation in Garut's athlete development roadmap for the next five years. He outlined several major upcoming events, including the 2027 POPKAB, the 2028 PORKAB, the 2029 POPKAB, and ultimately, when Garut Regency hosts the 2030 West Java Porprov.

"As a prospective host of the 2030 Porprov, we want not only a successful organization, but also a successful achievement. We have five years to prepare," he stressed.

He also conveyed KONI Garut's commitment to continue collaborating with BKC in preparing the best athletes for the 2030 Porprov.

Meanwhile, Andri Rahadian Arsanata, the Head of the BKC Central Executive Board, commended Ridzki Ridznurdin, who is now entering his third term leading the Garut BKC. He emphasized that sports organizations must continue to thrive through sustained competition and achievement.

Andri also said that BKC has a busy agenda at various levels, including preparations for the celebration of "Sawidak Tahun" (60 Years) of BKC which will be commemorated on June 16, 2026.

Through this KEJURDO, BKC Garut is expected to continue to be a hub for high-achieving karate athletes who can bring honor to the region at the national and international levels. (Garut Regency Communications and Information Office/bhf)
