
PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. BEKASI - Acting Chair of the Family Welfare Empowerment Team for West Java Province Amanda Soemedi Bey Machmudin hopes that the activities of the Pious Children's Champion Contest (KOAS) can build a future generation that is physically and spiritually intelligent.
This was stated by Amanda Soemedi when giving a speech at the opening of the KOAS implementation in Region II at the West Java Provincial Level at the Bekasi Regency Regional Government Complex, Wednesday (20/3/2024).
For the children who attended this activity, Amanda believed it could be a means of developing interest and talent in reading the Koran, especially in the holy month of Ramadan.
"This event is expected to become a forum in the religious sector to develop interest and talent in reading the Al Quran to build a generation that is healthy both physically and spiritually," added Amanda.
KOAS is a routine activity organized by the West Java Provincial Government during the holy month of Ramadan.
Every year there is always a new champion and this event is used as a stepping stone to take part in competitions at the national level.
Amanda said that KOAS continues to be held on an ongoing basis to provide space for expression for the growth of children in West Java, especially in the spiritual field.
"This can also make a pious and pious child so that it becomes a source of pride for his family," he said.
Not only that, Amanda hopes that activities like this can stimulate other children to be more active in learning about Islam, especially during the month of Ramadan.
He also explained that this activity was carried out to prepare the younger generation to have good morals.
"Children's morals are very important in responding to future challenges, starting with strengthening religious aspects, honing self-confidence, and of course abilities and developing talents," said Amanda.
He also appreciated the activities carried out by the Bekasi Regency TP PKK so that they provided positive activities in the month of Ramadan for children.
"I don't forget to appreciate the KOAS competition committee in region 2 and to my children, happy racing and God willing, the winners will compete again in the final round which will be held at the provincial level at Gedung Sate," concluded Amanda.
The KOAS competitions include the 30 Juz Tahfidz Contest, the Adhan Contest, the Little Da'i Contest, and the MMQ Al Quran Braile Contest.
