PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan released the Bandung City contingent that will compete in the 2026 West Java Provincial Sports Week (Porprov), Monday (26/10/2026).
During the farewell at the Bandung City Hall Plaza, Farhan ignited the athletes' enthusiasm by shouting one word, namely "Champion!"
Farhan reminded that the struggle in the Porprov event not only requires technical skills, but also courage and a competitive mentality.
"Since we met for preparations a year ago, there's one sentence I've always said to all of you: kudu wani jeung gelutna," said Farhan.
According to him, this expression is not just an invitation to be brave in competing on the field, arena, or pool, but also encourages athletes to give their best.
Farhan reminded the officials of the importance of paying attention to non-technical aspects during the match while still adhering to the rules and laws.
"Officials, we must be careful, meaning there are non-technical matters that we must carefully review. But we must not break the law. That's for sure," said Farhan.
He also asked the athletes to appear confident and realize that their struggle is supported by the government and all the people of Bandung City.
"Be confident and believe that your struggle is not alone. It's not just the officials who are waiting for you, it's not just the mayor who is waiting for you, it's not just the Bandung City Government that supports you. But all the people of Bandung are proud and support our athletes in the 2026 Porprov," he said.
Porprov Becomes a Place to Develop Young Athletes
Farhan said that Porprov is an important part of developing young athletes to hone their skills and gain experience before competing at a higher level.
"The 2026 Provincial Sports Week (Porprov) is a series of training sessions for young athletes to develop them into the best athletes in Indonesia and represent Indonesia on the world stage," he said.
The Bandung City Government is paying attention to the contingent's participation in the 2026 Provincial Sports Week (Porprov). In addition to sending athletes, Bandung City is also involved as one of the supporting hosts in organizing this West Java-level sporting event.
Farhan hopes that the athletes will be able to achieve the best results and become part of the regeneration of athletes from West Java and Indonesia.
"We look forward to the best achievements from our young athletes throughout West Java," he said.
