PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Regional Government officially implemented the 2025 Simultaneous Great Harvest together with the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, which was carried out online from 14 provinces in Indonesia.

In Bandung City, the harvest took place at the Makmur Farmers Group, Jalan Kali Cidurian, Cipamokolan Village, Rancasari District, Monday (7/4/2025).

The Mayor of Bandung, Muhammad Farhan, who was present at the location, expressed his pride in the achievements of farmers amidst limited agricultural land in urban areas.

"I got information that productivity here reaches 7 to 8 tons per hectare. This is really beyond my expectations because nationally, the average is only around 5 tons per hectare," said Farhan.

He added that this achievement shows that Bandung City, even though it is a metropolitan city, still has strength in the agricultural sector.

This also shows that proper management, use of superior seeds, and the enthusiasm of farmers can produce abundant harvests.

Based on data from the Bandung City Food Security and Agriculture Service (DKPP), the total area of active agricultural land in Bandung City reaches 702 hectares, and for 2025 it is estimated that there will be around 380 hectares ready for harvest.

Specifically in Rancasari District, it was recorded that there were 63 hectares of rice fields managed by 131 sharecroppers.

This area is one of the productive agricultural centers in Bandung City, with a planting frequency of 1 to 3 times a year depending on the season and water availability. (Bandung City Government Public Relations/rka)
