PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Smart City system initiated by the Bandung City Government through the Communication and Informatics Service has caught the attention of the Indonesian Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs.

Acting Deputy for Public Order Coordination of the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia Brigadier General Asep Jaenal Ahmadi said that the digital transformation in the Bandung City Government was inspiring. He hopes that this system can be implemented in various other cities/regencies.

"We see that Bandung City is one of the city governments that has implemented this digital transformation," said Asep while viewing the Smart City system at the Bandung Command Center, Thursday (19/9/2024).

This working visit is also in line with the learning carried out by the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia in realizing the smart city concept that can be applied in the National Capital City (IKN).

One of the impressive aspects for Kemenkopolhukam RI is the integration of public services and security in one space, namely the Bandung Command Center. Asep calls it the Smart Security System.

"There is integration with the police that can be collaborated with the city security system, namely the smart security system," said Asep.

"Hopefully this will be a lesson and input for us to be able to develop in other regions," he hoped.

Bambang said that Bandung has been one of the pioneering smart cities since 2015. A number of innovations have been made to facilitate public access to public services.

"The dynamics occurring in the city of Bandung make the acceleration of public services very important," he said.

Meanwhile, Assistant for Economy and Development of Bandung City Eric M. Attauriq expressed his gratitude to the ranks of the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs for their attention and appreciation in visiting Bandung City to exchange knowledge about smart cities.

He admitted that he was proud of the efforts made by the Bandung City Government, in addition to bringing benefits to the community, it also received attention from the central government.

"Hopefully, with the arrival of Mr. Asep and his staff, it can be a motivation, and become a suggestion and input for the development of smart city," said Eric. (Bandung City Communication and Information Service/Revo)
