PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan welcomed the holding of the Indonesian Basketball League All Star 2026 at the Bandung Arena as a momentum for the revival of sports entertainment that has an impact on the economy and community creativity (10/04/2026).
The national basketball event was held again in Bandung City after more than a decade since it last took place in 2012.
The Bandung City Government believes the presence of the Indonesian Basketball League All Star brings opportunities for the development of the sports ecosystem and the creative industry in the city.
"This isn't just a match, but an opportunity to demonstrate that Bandung is ready to become a sports entertainment city. We want to provide the best experience for both players and the community," said Farhan.
The implementation of the Indonesian Basketball League All Star was also enlivened by various activities that took place since (14/03/2026).
The series of activities includes the Indonesian Basketball League Bandung Treasure Hunt with Ardan Radio, public space activation, and the Indonesian Basketball League Goes to School program involving students.
The program provides a sports entertainment experience that reaches a wider audience, not just focused on the match arena.
The Bandung City Government believes that holding national-scale sports activities can have an economic and social impact on residents.
"Bandung isn't just a venue, but also part of the experience itself. We want every event to have an economic, social, and cultural impact on the community," said Farhan.
Farhan also believes that basketball has a strong fan base among the younger generation in Bandung City.
"Since the beginning, at school, we've known 'basketball kids' and 'soccer kids.' This means basketball holds a special place in the hearts of Bandung's youth," said Farhan.
Indonesian Basketball League Director Junas Miradiarsyah explained that the concept of the Indonesian Basketball League All Star in Bandung was designed as a series of activities involving the community.
"From the start, we wanted All Star to be an experience. That's why we're offering a longer series, including activities in public spaces, schools, and communities," said Junas.
Junas said Bandung City was chosen because it has a strong basketball fan base and high enthusiasm among young people.
"Bandung has incredible energy. We've seen how enthusiastic the community, especially young people, are about the Indonesian Basketball League All-Star series of events," said Junas.
Junas also revealed that tickets for the 2026 Indonesian Basketball League All-Star have sold out, with a capacity of around 4,500 spectators at the Bandung Arena.
"We greatly appreciate the support from the Bandung City Government. This collaboration allows us to present an event that is not only engaging but also impactful for the city," said Junas.
The Indonesian Basketball League All Star 2026 was held at the Bandung Arena with a series of events such as a celebrity game, a three-point contest, and a slam dunk contest.
