PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Facing the ongoing extreme weather, the Bandung City Government has activated two main alert posts for 24 hours. The posts are located at the Mayor's Hall and the Deputy Mayor's Official Residence on Jalan Nyland.
"Since Saturday night, the Bandung City Hall and the Deputy Mayor's official residence have been used as standby posts. These two locations are ready to become coordination centers in disaster management," said Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan in a morning assembly at City Hall (10/3/2025).
This post functions as an information and complaint center for residents who need emergency assistance.
All levels of government, including related agencies, sub-district heads and village heads, are asked to continue to maintain the condition of their respective areas.
Farhan also said that in a situation like this, efficiency and speed of response are the main keys.
Therefore, he appealed to all government officials to play an active role and not just wait for orders from their superiors.
"I hope everyone remains vigilant and continues to seek innovation in disaster management. Good initiative and coordination will be the determining factors for our success in facing this challenge," he said.
In addition, Farhan asked all government employees to limit out-of-town travel to ensure full readiness in facing potential disasters that could still occur in the next few days.
"The conditions out there are still not safe. I hope all government employees can be role models for the community by remaining alert in their respective places," he said.
He also hopes that the spirit of mutual cooperation and concern in dealing with disasters can continue to be maintained.
Farhan invited all parties to make this situation a momentum to strengthen coordination and innovation in facing the challenges of hydrometeorological disasters in the future.
"Hopefully this Ramadhan atmosphere will increase our enthusiasm to continue to serve the community and realize the vision of Bandung as a superior, trustworthy, advanced, and religious city," he said. (Bandung City Communication and Information Service/Fauziah)
