PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Government is preparing to hold the 2027 Indonesian Heritage City Forum to introduce the rich history to participants from various regions.

Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan conveyed this readiness after attending the Heritage City Forum in Ternate City, North Maluku, August 26–30, 2026.

"As a member of the Heritage City Forum, we will also host it in 2027," said Muhammad Farhan at Bandung City Hall, August 24, 2026.

The Bandung City Government will prepare a program and prepare for the event after the series of forums in Ternate is completed.

The Heritage City Forum brings together regencies and cities that have rich history and heritage that are important to Indonesia's journey.

Muhammad Farhan said that Bandung has a number of historical traces that could be an attraction at the national level forum.

"For the city of Bandung, the strongest historical traces are found in two moments: the construction of the Post Road in 1801 and the moment when we began to become a center of international diplomacy in 1955," said Muhammad Farhan.

The construction of the Post Road and the Asia-Africa Conference were two moments that shaped Bandung's identity as a city with important history.

This historical wealth will be developed into city introduction materials through various programs during the 2027 Indonesian Heritage Cities Forum.

Muhammad Farhan said the Indonesian Heritage City network recorded around 27 districts and cities, although this number is still being verified.

Documentation of the history and heritage of Bandung City has been collected by relevant regional agencies, including the Department of Tourism and Culture.

This data is the capital of the Bandung City Government to prepare informative historical materials while introducing Bandung's identity to forum participants.
