PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Mayor of Bandung, Muhammad Farhan, stated that the City of Bandung is ready to welcome tourists who will come during the Eid holiday and ensure the comfort of tourists when visiting the City of Bandung.

He conveyed this when accompanying the Minister of Tourism, Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, on a working visit to several tourist locations in the city of Bandung (19/3/2025).

"We will work as hard as possible to ensure that the arrival of tourists, both foreign and domestic, whether for tourism or to return to Bandung during the Eid holiday, will get the best experience," said Farhan.

"We want to make sure that everyone will be comfortable, safe and happy," he added.

Farhan said that collaboration between city, provincial and central governments was important in encouraging the growth of the tourism sector.

"We must work together to ensure that this budget efficiency policy becomes a positive stimulus for tourism and the economy in Bandung," he added.

In terms of tourist visits, Farhan said, domestic tourists who come specifically for tourism have experienced a slight decline. While educational and business tourism still dominate.

"For example, tourists from Medan, Batam, Makassar, and Palembang who come to Bandung are mostly students and business people. Meanwhile, flights from Semarang, Solo, Jogja, and Surabaya to Bandung are getting fewer, especially since the toll road infrastructure was repaired," he explained.

To overcome this, he hopes that the proposal from ITB regarding the agglomeration of four airports, namely Soekarno-Hatta (Cengkareng), Halim Perdanakusuma, Husein Sastranegara, and Kertajati, can be realized soon.

Meanwhile, Minister of Tourism, Widiyanti Putri Wardhana is committed to promoting Bandung's tourist destinations and MSMEs more widely.

"So it must be promoted of course. From us to promote the destinations and places of UMKM and art centers here. From our friends in the media also help influence so that more tourists can shop," he said.

He ensured that collaboration between the central and regional governments would continue to improve the tourism sector in the city of Bandung.

"So maybe not just today, we will meet again more often to formulate collaboration, increase tourists in Bandung," he said.
