PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The City of Bandung has succeeded in passing 25 quotas for the 2025 West Java Regional Student Sports Week (Popda). With these results, the City of Bandung has succeeded in passing the most athletes to the 2025 West Java Popda event.

The City of Bandung achieved this success at the West Java Regional Student Sports Week (Popwilda) IV which was held in the City of Bandung (6-10/5/2024). West Java Popwilda Region IV is the qualifying round for West Java Popda 2025.

For this reason, the Head of the Bandung City Youth and Sports Service (Dispora), Eddy Marwoto, admitted that he was grateful because the City of Bandung had passed the largest number of athletes to the 2025 West Java Popda.

"Extraordinary. This is the result of the hard work of athletes assisted by the Bandung City Regional Student Sports Education and Training Center (PPPLPD) under the continuous auspices of Dispora with KONI and sports administrators," he said.

According to Eddy, Bandung City, which was appointed as the host, successfully implemented Popwilda Region IV West Java activities in 2024.

"Thank God, the implementation of Popwilda Region IV West Java in Bandung City went successfully and smoothly," he said.

It is known that Bandung Regency was in second place by passing 19 quotas, followed by Garut Regency (13 quotas), Tasikmalaya City (6 quotas), Ciamis Regency (5 quotas), Banjar City (2 quotas) and Tasikmalaya Regency (0 quotas).

West Java Popwilda Region IV competed in 35 competition numbers from 8 sports and competed for 70 qualifying quota numbers for Popda 2025 from 7 city/district participants.

Popwilda Region IV West Java 2024 is official, the closing will be held at the Arcamanik Indoor Youth Center Volleyball GOR, Bandung City, Friday (10/5/2024).

Based on the results of the medal recapitulation at Popwilda West Java 2024 region IV, the City of Bandung managed to collect 20 gold medals, 5 silver and 8 bronze medals. With a total of 33 medals.

In second place is Garut Regency with 7 gold medals, 6 silver medals and 7 bronze medals. Third is Bandung Regency with 5 gold medals, 14 silver medals and 10 bronze medals.
