PORTALJABAR, BOGOR CITY - Deputy Chairman of the People's Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia (MPR RI) Eddy Soeparno said that Bogor City is ready to form the Red and White Cooperative in 68 sub-districts.

This was conveyed by Eddy Soeparno after holding a discussion with the Bogor City regional apparatus at the Bogor Mayor's Official Residence, Monday (12/5/2025).

"The progress that has been achieved is quite significant and the target is that by early June all sub-districts will have cooperatives," said Eddy Soeparno.

Later, continued Eddy Soeparno, the Red and White Cooperative will accommodate all elements of society to empower business activities.

The budget given to the cooperative is not free, but must still be returned. The funds provided are used to turn around businesses in each sub-district.

Bogor Mayor Dedie A. Rachim said, in general in Bogor City there are approximately 600 cooperatives. The cooperatives are located in several sub-districts, including 68 sub-districts that will be the location for the establishment of the Red and White Cooperative.

Of the 68 cooperatives in 68 sub-districts, only 6 cooperatives are active. Meanwhile, most cooperatives are inactive because they are not developing or business activities are impossible to run.

"So with the offer to form the Red and White Cooperative, it has become a trigger for those who previously had no desire or no business activities, now they are enthusiastic again," said Dedie Rachim.

However, he warned to be selective in reviving the 62 inactive cooperatives. Cooperatives must have a real business that can be run. That way, cooperative members can return the loans given.

In Bogor City, Dedie Rachim continued, there are various sectors that can be driven by cooperatives amidst limited agricultural land and the existence of factories or production businesses. For example, the logistics sector, clinics or so on.
