PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The General Election Commission (KPU) of West Java Province noted that the process of recapitulating the counting of ballot papers was approaching half or had received 43.85 percent of the recapitulation results from the polling station (TPS) level in West Java. Meanwhile, all processes at the TPS were declared completely complete and have now shifted to the sub-district level.
Head of the Voter Education Socialization and Community Participation Division of the West Java KPU, Hedi Ardia, said that the recapitulation data that had been sent had only reached 43.85 percent or the equivalent of 61,589 TPS out of a total of 140,457 TPS in West Java.
"The counting at the TPS has been completed. Those who have not finished will report it to us via Sirekap. Today the recapitulation is starting to shift to the sub-district level," said Hedi at the West Java KPU Office, Bandung City, Thursday (15/2/2024).
Although he did not deny that the recapitulation process at the sub-district level would be complicated, Hedi hoped that the recapitulation at the sub-district level could be carried out as quickly as possible.
"There are definitely dynamics that occur in the recapitulation. We can't just assume when it will happen because it's not as simple as on paper, especially in areas where there are a lot of TPS," he said.
Hedi stated that his party could not assume that re-voting could be carried out at a number of polling stations that were experiencing problems because the reasons why residents applied for re-voting were still being debated.
"It's like the existence of ballot papers that were mixed up. Based on the legal umbrella, there is a way to handle this. In the next few days, whether the understanding will occur or not. Yes, hopefully as an institution we won't have a repeat vote," Hedi hoped.
"Regarding the allegation that the ballot papers were voted on first in Bogor, we are still investigating it to see the facts directly. What is certain is that everything has been done as well as possible, but the facts on the ground are still like that," he added.
Meanwhile, based on temporary data, in the presidential election in West Java, the Prabowo-Gibran pair still dominates with 57.19 percent, followed by Anies-Muhaimin 31.81 percent, and Ganjar-Mahfud 11.05 percent.
