PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The West Java General Election Commission (KPU) has prepared three debates for four pairs of candidates for governor and deputy governor of West Java 2024.

The Chairperson of the West Java KPU, Ummi Wahyuni, said that the 2024 West Java gubernatorial candidate debate must reach all people, including new voters.

"We are preparing three debates, with a time span of 60 days, we are preparing so that all three can cover all levels of West Java society," said Ummi, at Gedung Sate, Bandung City, Thursday (26/9/2024).

However, Ummi admitted that until now, her party still could not determine the location of the debate. However, she confirmed that the debate would be held in three different places.

"The locations are different, so we formulate the locations, for example in the corners of West Java or wherever. One of them we thought of placing in educational places, because we have a lot of new voters," he said.

Ummi admitted that for the regulation on the location points for installing campaign equipment (APK), until now her party is still waiting for information from 27 districts/cities in West Java, including the campaign schedule for each candidate pair for which her party is still waiting for technical instructions.

"The schedule is still being consulted, because until today there are no technical instructions. God willing, the APK determination point for 27 cities/regencies will be issued in the form of a decree," he said.

"The campaign points will be exactly the same as the previous election, not disturbing the crowd, protocol roads and government buildings. It is allowed to go to places in education, but there are conditions that must obtain permission and not bring attributes," added Ummi.

Ummi also appealed to the 84 regional head candidate pairs in 27 regencies/cities and the four gubernatorial and vice gubernatorial candidate pairs in West Java to jointly maintain the campaign period well, safely and smoothly.

"In accordance with the theme of the West Java gubernatorial election, as an initiation of democratic culture in West Java, with the brilliant tagline: the joy of voting directly. Let's make this a joyful democratic party for West Java," concluded Ummi.
