PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City General Election Commission (KPU) successfully held an Open Plenary Meeting for the Recapitulation of Vote Counts for the Election of Governor and Deputy Governor of West Java and Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Bandung 2024 which took place on 4-6 December 2024.
The Open Plenary Meeting of the Recapitulation of Vote Counting for the Election of Governor and Deputy Governor of West Java and Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Bandung 2024 is an important moment in ensuring transparency and accuracy of the Pilkada results.
Bandung City KPU Chairman, Anam Gumilar Winata, said that the vote recapitulation went smoothly and transparently, without any significant corrections to the vote counting results from the sub-district to city levels.
The data submitted by the candidate pair witnesses and the Bandung City Bawaslu are all in sync. The corrections that exist are only related to technical errors in the number of voters, not the vote acquisition, said Anam (6/12/2024).
He also appreciated the hard work of all parties, starting from the KPU ranks to ad hoc officers in the field.
"The Pilkada process this time is not only about choosing a leader, but also a place for our reflection and evaluation as a nation. Thank you to all officials who have worked with high dedication for the success of this Pilkada," he said.
The implementation of the 2024 Bandung City Pilkada received a lot of appreciation, both from candidate pair witnesses, Bawaslu, and civil society.
Anam ensured that the regional election process was carried out neutrally and there were almost no undesirable conditions.
"Alhamdulillah, there is no bad quality that leads to the organizers' lack of neutrality. This shows the increasingly good quality of democracy in Bandung City," he added.
In addition, input from Bawaslu and Panwascam is considered very helpful in maintaining the quality of the Pilkada.
"We are grateful for the advice given by Bawaslu and the management, so that potential problems in the field can be resolved quickly and appropriately," he said.
Regarding the next stage, the Bandung City KPU is still waiting for the possibility of a lawsuit from the candidate pair to the Constitutional Court (MK). If there is no lawsuit by the three-day working deadline, the Pilkada results will be officially determined in January 2025.
"This Pilkada is not just an event to choose a leader, but also an opportunity for us to spread the life of the community in the city of Bandung. Let us maintain what is good and fix what is lacking," concluded Anam.
The orderly, transparent, and enthusiastic implementation is expected to be the first step for the City of Bandung in welcoming a new leader with great hopes for a better future. (Diskominfo Kota Bandung/Fauziah)
