KPU, Millennials and Gen Z in Bandung City are Ready to Make the 2024 Election a Success

PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City General Election Commission (KPU) held the event "Gen Z Takes Role in Successing the 2024 Election" at the Grandia Hotel, Bandung City, Thursday (8/2/2024).

This activity is a voter education outreach for young voters in Bandung City.

Chairman of the Bandung City KPU, Wenti Frihadianti, said that this activity was an effort to increase the active participation of young Bandung City voters in the 2024 Election.

For information, in the 2024 elections, out of a total of 1.8 million people who are on the Permanent Voter List (DPT) in Bandung City, around 1 million voters are from the younger generation, with details of 612,643 being millennials (32.72 percent) and 408,862 generation Z people (21.84 percent).

"Let's make the 2024 election a success as the great desire of the Indonesian nation. Use your voting rights well, don't be influenced by certain parties. "Don't be easily led by unclear opinions," he said.

According to him, the final result of a quality democratic party will provide quality leadership. According to him, this can encourage accelerated strategies and policies for the nation's progress.

Bandung City KPU Secretary Noviasyah Adjany said that the 2024 Election is a momentum that cannot be ignored in the journey of democracy.

According to him, this election is not just a process of choosing the nation's leaders, but also how to make people's voices determine the direction of policy and social order in the future.

"The aim of this activity is to create a young generation who will play an active role in shaping the country's future through elections. "Gen Z is not only a spectator, but is also actively involved in this process," he said.

On this occasion, the participants who were high school students in Bandung City received educational material for novice voters from three sources, namely: Khairul Anam Gumilar (KPU Commissioner for Bandung City), Tresia Wulandari (Communication Practitioner and Academician) and Harashta Haifa Zahra (Putri Indonesia West Java).
