PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - West Java Deputy Governor Erwan Setiawan urged the newly inaugurated TP PKK (Family Welfare Movement) management for the 2026-2030 term to get to work immediately. PKK cadres will immediately go into the field to provide direct services down to the family level so that the community can benefit.

"After being inaugurated, we immediately went to work in the community to improve services, so that the PKK's role is felt down to the smallest level, namely the family," said Erwan.

Previously, Erwan inaugurated and confirmed the management of the West Java Province Family Empowerment and Welfare Movement Team (TP PKK) for the 2026-2030 term at the Gemah Ripah Hall, Gedung Sate, Bandung City, on Thursday (August 20, 2026). Samantha Dewi will lead the West Java TP PKK for the next four years.

On that occasion, Erwan appreciated the role of the West Java PKK (Family Welfare Movement) which was able to significantly reduce the stunting rate to 5.8 percent in 2025. This reduction rate is the largest in Indonesia.

"Thanks to the role of the West Java PKK in 2025, we succeeded in reducing stunting by the largest percentage in Indonesia, namely 5.8 percent. Others averaged 2 percent or 3 percent," he said.

Erwan wants the stunting eradication program in West Java to remain a priority. At the very least, he continued, there should be no new cases of stunting, or Zero New Stunting. He is optimistic that West Java Zero Stunting can be achieved as long as all parties consistently address the issue of stunted growth due to malnutrition.

"If we remain consistent, we can achieve West Java Zero Stunting, and now our commitment is Zero New Stunting, meaning no more new stunting in West Java. This is a significant role for PKK cadres at the provincial, district, and city levels, down to the neighborhood unit (RW) level," said Erwan.

Under Samantha Dewi's leadership, the West Java Family Welfare Movement (TP PKK) will soon develop quarterly, semester, and even annual work programs. Erwan emphasized that every program implemented must truly benefit the community.

"The newly appointed management must immediately create a concrete work program that will benefit the community," he concluded.
